REV. HEDY DRUMMOND
Rev. Hedy Jamison Drummond was born on August 10, 1947 in Baltimore, Maryland to the late Charles and Norma Jamison. After the death of her mother, her father and another lovely mother, Marguerite Jamison, raised her.
Pastor Drummond attended Baltimore City Public Schools and graduated from Frederick Douglass High School in 1965. Rev. Drummond received an Associate of Science Degree from Kittrell Junior College in 1967. In 1969, she received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Psychology from Delaware State College. She is a graduate of St. Mary's Seminary and Ecumenical University, earning her Master's of Arts Degree in Theology in 1997.
In 1969, she married James W. Drummond, Jr. From this union, they were blessed with a son, James W. Drummond, 3rd. She has a lovely daughter-in-law Kei, and five lovely grandchildren, Taylor 18, Jourden 15, Jamari 15, Mikayla 12, and Jaelyn 6. She also taught Jaelyn at home when she was 4 years old.
The Enoch Pratt Free Library was where she spent her career for 33 years. She served as Young Adult Librarian, Assistant Branch Manager and Branch Manager.
Rev. Drummond attended the African Methodist Episcopal Institute of the Washington Conference and was ordained an Itinerant Deacon in 1989. In 1991 she was ordained as an Itinerant Elder. She was the founder of Amazing Grace A.M.E. Church Mission in Carroll County. She has served as pastor of Ebenezer A.M.E Church in Brunswick, MD, St. John A.M.E Church in Hughesville, MD and currently pastor of Ebenezer AME Church in Galesville, MD.
Rev. Drummond has served as Chaplain of Kittrell Junior College and Brunswick Police Department.
In 1983, she was stricken with cancer, but today, as she walks free of the disease, her testimony boast of the healing power of the Lord, Jesus Christ.
